Momoye

Our inaugural Pinot Noir Rosé is dedicated to Nancy Uehara Lee. When Nancy was growing up in Hawai'i, her childhood nickname was Momoye - meaning peach blossom.

Nancy and her husband Herbie moved from Hawai'i to Laguna Beach, California, in the 1950s. They had three sons - Rusty, Curt, and Robin. Jeff's family lived next door to the Lees, and they became a blended family. Nancy and Herbie were second parents to Jeff and his sister Dawn, and the boys their brothers. Nancy and Herbie became Stacey’s bonus in-laws, and another set of grandparents to Ellie.

Nancy loved hosting large gatherings of family and friends in their home, where she would quietly prepare massive amounts of food in her tiny kitchen. The food was incredible - you just knew it was prepared with love - and the house was be filled with laughter.
